Devious Journal Entry, #2!

Sun Jan 19, 2003, 12:01 AM
i guess i really should write something here more than "moo."

bah. effort.

okay. here's my theory on life: thoughts are often circular in nature. that is, that many of the things you think about in your head are things you've either already thought about at one time, or they are singular thoughts that curve back around on themselves. however, these thoughts cannot be truly circular because one never comes back to the exact same point in time or space at which the thought began. now, granted, the structure and nature of a thought is still a grand mystery in scientific terms, but i believe that a thought is much like anything else in that it will naturally take a shape. and, because of the circular-yet-not-quite-circular nature of the thought process, i believe the shape that these thoughts take is that of a spiral. or, to be more exact, a three-dimensional spiral, as opposed to a coil. a three-d spiral now can also be thought of as roughly parabolic. and, because each thought does eventually have an end to it, these parabolic spirals are not infinate. they're likely all the same size as well, with shorter thoughts having a thicker spiral to make up for length, because by having a uniform size they are more conveniently stored, and nature likes convenience. nature also likes order. much like the molecules of a crystal, these spirals may all be stored side by side, alternating concave and convex spirals in order to conserve space. this alternation of parabolic thought-spirals would conceivably then appear as a sine curve. long chains of sine curves would be formed. and then the next step is for one sine curve to move half a unit over to become a cosine curve, and join with a sine curve, again to conserve space. and then what shape have you? a double helix. like dna. so, what if, what if -- all of our dna was in fact comprised of the molecules that make up our thoughts? we are what we think.

just pretty thoughts all in a row.
